About

ABOUT RIGDEN MINDCARE

I created Rigden MindCare to offer a calm, supportive space where people can slow things down, make sense of what’s going on, and find practical ways forward.

Life can feel overwhelming at times. You may be experiencing stress, anxiety, relationship challenges, major life changes, or a sense that something just isn’t quite right. Counselling offers a place to talk openly without judgement and to be met with understanding, respect, and care.

I take a practical and compassionate approach, tailoring sessions to your individual needs and goals. My work is grounded in evidence based approaches and focuses on both insight and everyday coping strategies, always at a pace that feels right for you.

Rigden MindCare offers confidential counselling in person and online. Taking the first step can feel difficult, but support is available when you are ready

Services

Professional Counseling Services

Rigden MindCare provides counselling for adults and young people, offering practical and compassionate support across a range of life challenges. Sessions are tailored to your individual needs, goals, and circumstances.

Personalised Therapy Sessions

At Rigden MindCare, I believe in the value of personalised counselling that recognises each person’s unique experiences and needs. Counselling is a collaborative process, with sessions shaped around your goals, circumstances, and what feels most helpful for you. Through one on one sessions, we focus on building understanding, gaining insight, and developing practical coping strategies that can be applied in everyday life, supporting meaningful and sustainable change.

Areas of Support

Counselling can be helpful if you are experiencing stress or anxiety, low mood, difficulties with emotional wellbeing, grief and loss, relationship or family challenges, study or work related pressures, or major life transitions. It can also support issues around self esteem, confidence, coping with change, and navigating periods of uncertainty. You do not need to be in crisis to seek counselling. Many people attend to gain clarity, build coping skills, or better understand themselves

Session Options

Counselling sessions are available in person, online via secure and confidential video, or through outreach by arrangement. These flexible options are designed to make accessing support as comfortable and practical as possible. A free 15 minute phone or video consultation is also available, offering a relaxed opportunity to talk through what you’re looking for, ask any questions, and see whether counselling feels like the right fit for you before booking a session.

What to Expect

What to Expect

Starting counselling can feel unfamiliar or even a little daunting, especially if this is your first time. The aim of counselling at Rigden MindCare is to create a safe, respectful, and supportive space where you feel comfortable to talk at your own pace.

The First Session

Your first session is an opportunity to begin getting to know each other and to talk about what has led you to seek counselling. There is no pressure to know what to say or where to begin, and you do not need to prepare anything in advance. The initial appointment runs for 90 minutes, allowing extra time to gently explore your concerns, your goals, and what support may be most helpful for you.

Ongoing Sessions

Counselling is a collaborative process shaped around your needs and what feels most helpful for you. Sessions may involve talking things through, gaining insight, and learning practical ways to manage everyday challenges. The pace of counselling is guided by you, with space to pause, reflect, and move forward when you are ready.

A Safe Place

Counselling sessions are confidential and approached with care, respect, and understanding. This allows you to speak openly without judgement, knowing you are supported in a professional and compassionate way.

Session Format

Sessions are available in person, online via secure and confidential video, or through outreach by arrangement. These flexible options are designed to make accessing support as comfortable and accessible as possible, whatever your circumstances.

Taking the First Step

It is completely normal to feel unsure about starting counselling. A free 15 minute phone or video consultation is available if you would like to ask questions, talk through what you are looking for, and see whether counselling feels like the right fit for you before booking.
